A Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) is a trained professional who provides specialized care for newborns and supports families during the first weeks and months after birth. They are experienced in newborn feeding, sleep routines, diapering, soothing techniques, safe sleep practices, and early infant development, while also helping parents adjust to life with a new baby.
Please note: A Newborn Care Specialist is not a medical professional unless they also hold credentials such as a nurse or other licensed healthcare provider. They do not provide medical care, diagnose conditions, or replace pediatric or postpartum medical services.
Yes. Depending on availability, Little Guardians may match families with Registered Nurses (RNs) for newborn and specialized care when a nursing background is requested or beneficial. Availability varies by location and scheduling.
Most Little Guardians services have no minimum booking requirement, allowing families to schedule care based on their needs. Academic Care requires a 3-hour minimum to provide sufficient time for breaks, interactive enrichment and comprehension.
Not at this time. Little Guardians currently provides daytime and evening in-home care services. As our services expand, overnight care may be offered in the future.
Yes. Little Guardians accepts approved third-party childcare funding programs and employer-sponsored childcare benefits when eligible. If you're using a childcare voucher or assistance program, contact us and we'll help determine eligibility and guide you through the process.
Yes. Depending on caregiver qualifications and availability, Little Guardians may provide care for premature infants, twins, triplets, and other multiples. We carefully match families with caregivers who have the appropriate experience to meet their unique needs.
We understand that plans can change. Cancellations made with at least 24 hours' notice will not incur a cancellation fee. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee as outlined in our service agreement. If your caregiver must cancel unexpectedly, we will make every effort to provide a qualified replacement.
Little Guardians' Newborn Care services are available from birth through 12 months (infancy). Once your child turns 1 year old, families can transition to our Standard Care services for ongoing in-home childcare and support.
